Trivia:

On the night before the celebrations, it is traditional for the Balinese to clean their home, cook meals and do all the necessary preparations before the silence and inactivity of the following day.

If you see several men in a small group walking outside, they are called Pecalang, Balinese local guards that are allowed to wandering outside to ensure that the Nyepi are going smoothly.

If you must have a light, keep it low. Keep the torch facing downward, or lit only a candle.

Emergency services are available for those who has immediate medical attention. In case of emergency, ask for the assistance of the local Pecalang.

Nyepi; while it might be restrictive and uncomfortable for a first time it actually a wonderful experience to feel the quiet and tranquillity of Bali, with a clear sky full of stars – a rare sight if you live in a modern city, and of course a clean fresh air on the next day.
